One Day Short Course Northwest Occupational Health Conference

October 23, 2019

Following the legalization of marijuana in several US states, safety and health practitioners have been playing catch-up as they work to identify the on-the job occupational hazards unique to the rapidly growing cannabis industry.

This short course is designed to provide context on the toxicology and human health impacts of cannabis, occupational exposure assessment, and workplace controls. The course will provide background on the chemistry of cannabis extraction and product manufacturing techniques, as well as human health impacts through health hazard evaluations. Practitioners will also learn updates in exposure assessment tools and techniques for different types of cannabis operations. Local production operators as well as regulators will share best practices for implementing workplace controls and employee training.
